Summary: We were pleased to note very high satisfaction levels in response to the questions asked and that there was only one “4” judgement and no 5/Inadequate. We observed pupils develop emotionally, socially and physically whilst at Robinwood. We also think the pupils had a wonderful time and the questionnaires and positive comments seem to confirm this view. Thanks go to Mr. Harrison for organising the trip and to the Marine Park and Robinwood staff for the very high standard of care and instruction provided.

We received lots of positive and constructive comments and suggestions. Read below

Suggestions for improvements prior to the trip:

· Not a suggestion for improvement more of a thank you / compliment.  I shared some concerns on my form prior to the trip.  Xxxx’s teacher invited me in for a meeting and was very responsive and proactive about my concerns.  This really reassured me thank you.

· Longer time we’re there.

· Give more information to the children e.g. the same sort of talk that parents get.  I think this would have allayed some fears from the kids.  They seemed to know less than the parents, which was a shame. (Response: We do provide very similar information to the children before we go.)

· Reminders / prompts to use the pay ahead savings method.  It started well then kept forgetting to top up.  This isn’t the schools responsibility just would be helpful if occasional text came out. (Response: We do send reminders about and if payments are not made)

· Perhaps have the final meeting a week earlier so you have a weekend for final preparations. (Response: The final meeting is held as close as possible to departure. We will try to hold the meeting on the Friday before we go next year to give the weekend for any preparations.)

· It was difficult to attend the final information session the week of the trip due to it falling in the middle of the working day.

· The meeting prior to the trip was at 3pm which meant parents who work could not attend.  A letter was given covering the info at the meeting but a later time for all parents to attend would be a good idea.

· (Response– We recognise this. However, the meeting is short so we do not feel it is good use of staff or parent time to have another evening meeting for parents to attend (we are also aware that Middle School Open Evenings are around the same time). We send a letter out on the day of the meeting which is a summary of what we cover at the meeting.)

· Online payment straight to Robinwood. (Response: We do not think this is possible or practical to expect Robinwood to liase directly with parents with regards to payment. Also the cost of the trip is a combination of Robinwood as well as travel costs. Given this, we think it is probably more convenient for parents to just direct all payments to the school.)

Suggestions for improvement whilst we are away:

· D enjoyed the trip Thank You!

· It was a fantastic experience!

· Try not to have too much fun! A didn’t want to come home!

· E didn’t like the food on offer but did have a great time with a good range of activities.

· Comfier beds apparently!

· Making sure they put covers on the duvets

· Bedding was a bit thin – child was cold (perhaps children could have access to extra blankets or could bring a sleeping bag)

· The only thing A suggested was ….. please have comfortable beds!

· (Response: We will feed this back to Robinwood)

· Louder fire alarms (Response: The alarms were very loud but we did need to support some pupils during the evacuation in the night)

· Piranha pool hotter (Response: We noticed this whilst we were there and raised this as an issue at the time-it is usually hotter!)

· More accurate and informative texts. (Response: We aim to be as accurate and informative as possible)

· Maybe a couple more texts to let us know how they were getting on!

· More messages to parents during trip (and at least one in the evening)

· (Response: We send a text on arrival, at the start of day 2 and 3 and with information about our return on day 3. We would send additional texts (or make direct contact) if there were any important news whilst away. The texts are sent from the school office so are sent within the working hours of office staff.)

Any additional comments or suggestions

· L had a wonderful time thank you so much!  A real rite of passage thoroughly enjoyed.

· N adored every aspect of Robinwood – especially the amazing staff.  We felt she was happy and safe.  Thank You!

· Thanks to all the staff that helped on the trip.  A had a fantastic time!

· I would personally like to thank xxxxx (J’s teacher)  and a male Robinwood staff (no name) who helped J when he was ill with a migraine.  Thanks again.

· Thank you so much to everyone that helped to make this trip happen.  T had an amazing time.

· A had a great time at Robinwood.  Fab memories for her!

· It was awesome

· A loved her time away and didn’t want to come back!

· A had an absolutely amazing time.  Staff from MPFS were lovely – giving him cuddles and settling him when he was tearful and homesick.  I can see a difference in Axxx’s confidence as a direct result of Robinwood.  Well done and thank you (loads) to all involved.

· Thank you to all the staff who gave their time so Jxxxx could experience and have fun at Robinwood.

· Brilliantly organised and managed by the staff involved!  Felt totally confident my child would be very well cared for.  Look forward to the photos!  (Heard the Robinwood staff were great with the kids too!)  Thank you for a great experience and memories!

· Impressed at the care taken to provide coeliac friendly food.

· My three children all loved Robinwood.  It was a fantastic experience and something they talk about all the time.  Thank you for this wonderful opportunity!

· I would just like to say a massive thank you. C has made amazing memories

· Some of the responses above are probably child’s personal taste.  Overall we felt he was really well supported by MP staff and were encouraged to have the best experience possible.

· Make the activities longer.  Many thanks to all the staff involved.

· Had a fantastic time with lovely memories.

· It may be better for parents to not wait and wave to the bus.  It felt ages and I would have been happy to leave after the hall goodbye. (Response: There is no obligation to wave the children off and some parents do not/cannot. We think that this parental preference should be maintained in terms of this decision.)

· Take lots of photos and sell them to parents on return to raise money for the school. (Response: We create a slideshow which is freely available on the website.)

· Feedback forms usually have 1 for bad and 5 for excellent.  If people aren’t paying attention this might skew your results. (Response: Thanks for highlighting this to us.)

· Sounds like the children had an amazing time and it has been great as a confidence and resilience builder.  E thinks it should have been 3 nights!  Also a second text (maybe teatime would have been greatly appreciated. (Response: See above with regards to texts from school)
